Dry-Land Alfalfa Idea Moves From Umatilla to Wyoming
A Wyoming Lewis and Clark fair board delegation praised Umatilla County Oregon for promoting dry-land alfalfa on arid soils. They visited Wild Horse creek and T G Hailey farms, saying Wyoming could copy Oregon to rejuvenate exhausted ranges. They warned Wyoming to plant seed to replenish ranges or face cattle and sheep losses. The visitors planned further study in Baker County and Hagle Valley, promising to return to Pendleton for the fair.
