Ode to Bill Van Hemert Retirement Mailman Tribute

A light verse celebrates Bill Van Hemert for thirty six years on Rural Route 2 Des Moines and Packard era car quirks. It notes delays and loyal service with humor about old cars and Peoria mail cooperative jokes. The poem wishes blessings and friendship as he retires while recalling his tire and tool laden journeys and a rural route legend with a chorus urging him to blow his horn.
