Pella Classis Meets At Leighton Church
Pella classis met at Leighton on Tuesday Sept 19 for the regular fall session of business. The retiring president Rev G Menning led morning and evening services. Rev J A De Jong became president and Rev R D Douwstra temporary clerk. Reports from classical agents highlighted continued mission work, with ten missionaries unable to return to fields and seeking labor at home. The social welfare discussion urged stronger Christian influence over community morals and a meaningful NRA role in church work. The evening sermon by Menning focused on II Kings 6 16, the invisible army of God and protection. Ladies prepared meals for attendees.
