Fire at Garden City Feeder Plant Quickly Suppressed
A fire alarm reported from the Garden City Feeder Co on Friday afternoon. The blaze started on the roof where workers were renewing tar. The chemical fire apparatus contained the flames in minutes, with little damage. The incident recalled a 16 year old major fire that nearly wiped out the firm. The current building’s fire walls help confine any future blaze to its origin. The plant recently acquired chemical fire engines about two weeks ago.
