From bootblack to holder of large Ottumwa property
Sixty years ago William Bonygu wooning of Ottumwa was a citizen of Pella. He recalls Central park as a mass of cottonwood trees fenced in. Last week he stopped on a 4000 mile trip through 17 states and had lunch at a total cure. Hoogowuning built a business empire in Ottumwa with six buildings including Montgomery Ward Co storage, eight apartments, and Hoogenlowen. Rental income from one building is about 30,000 a year and daily home income from rentals totals unknown. He toured with his wife and said Ottumwa is too bad to move.
