Grading Crew Joins White Way Project At Pella
A grading gang with cook shan ties sheds and tools arrived in Pella early this week to begin work on the White Way west of town. They recently finished a Johnson County job and will work as long as weather allows. East of Pella progress continues toward the Mahaska County line, reducing the need for the detour via Franklin Street. The western stretch won't finish this fall due to longer length, but workers hope to complete the Pella Otley section soon to ease detours caused by bad hills on the route. West of Otley the road is new so detours are not expected there.
