Pella Red Cross Urges Separate Relief Funds

Pella residents are urged to keep Red Cross donations for their own relief efforts separate from public school funds and local poor relief. The letter argues against diverting entrusted funds for Japanese relief to other uses and suggests public levies should first cover poverty, with voluntary contributions at public meetings. It warns against turning Pella into a town of beggars and calls for local relief uses to be funded by public taxes if needed.
