City of Pella Iowa files a proposed Resolution of Necessity with plot and schedule for a system of sanitary sewers. The plan covers Sunset View Broadway West First Street West Second Street Adams Street Northwest Drive and North Annex with 8 to 10 inch lines, funded by assessments on abutting properties and sewer bonds. A public hearing is set for October 6 1961 at 7 30 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers.

The Women of the American Legion Auxiliary voted on September 6 to begin meetings at 7 80 p m for fall winter and spring, then revert to 8:00 p m for the 1962 summer. The County School of Instruction was set for Friday evening at 7 80 at the Legion Hall where county officers met with unit presidents and secretaries.
