Inspection cards ready for county farmers

Marion county farmers may request inspection cards now if they expect to qualify for soil conservation payments under the 1936 farm program. Late seedings of soil conserving crops and plans to adopt liming or legume seedings may proceed, with a first inspection possible now and a second before the deadline. Overplanting or failing to adopt soil conserving crops can disqualify, so farmers should compare 1986 planted acreage with approved base and 1935 depletion figures, and consult the county committeeman if uncertain. Emergency forage crops planted after July 1 do not affect land classification.
