In Sully area on August 26 the writer visited the Jake Elscott and C L Renaud homes with two calls planned at Sully. Mr Elscott, 70 years on his farm, spoke of longevity and his wish to stay rural. The Renauds, longstanding residents of Sully, marked their 60th wedding anniversary and offered views on faith, community, and ministers. The Dunn family near Pella shared plum picking, farm life, and the 75 year old Mrs Dunn’s fire-ruined house recovery, plus details of the Missouri trip and their children Hugh Ralph and Ilene.
