Legion Auxiliary Picnic at Pool Park September 13
The American Legion Post and Auxiliary picnic will be at Pool Park Tuesday evening September 13 at 6 00 PM Bring a covered dish per family size Auxiliary members provide drinks. The North Porterville school picnic will be held at the school all day September 10 inviting all classes and former teachers. The Otley 1910ers held a gathering at the Pella Legion Hall Friday at six with a pot lunch and many locals named. Jacqueline Marie Jones and Alfred Martin Parks wed at the Jones home August 27 in Pella with Parks employed by Rolscreen. Morning Sun loses W C Swan 94 former mayor.

UNICEF reports that about 17,000,000 children and pregnant or nursing mothers were helped in the first half of 1955 through health and nutrition programs. Frundt Builds Hybrid Seed Corn Plant At New Site
Frundt Seed Company shows a hybrid seed corn processing plant under construction on the Pella Knoxville road one and a half miles southwest. The facility will use gas fired drying equipment and continuous flow grading with a 55 foot high elevator. Next spring seeds will receive improved treatment. This year 170 acres of Certified Hybrid Seed Corn were produced and Frandt’s First Line Hybrids are sold in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska.
