Keep Crabgrass From Seeding To Control It
Iowa State College extension advice urges August seedless growth of crabgrass by preventing seed production. Methods include regular mowing with high mower setting, remove clippings, rake to pull prostrate stems, improve bluegrass sod, reseed with bluegrass redtop and white Dutch clover, and use nitrogen fertilizer with deep watering for strong roots while avoiding light irrigation that favors crabgrass.
