Last Ball Game Surprise For Pella Team
Montezuma defeated Pella 5 to 1 in a surprising home game. Poor fielding and unorganized lineup, plus weak batting, doomed the locals despite some fine defensive plays. Don Gail pitched well but lacked control. Heck Gail aroused limited enthusiasm as untried players struggled. Dan Dieleman and W. F. Stout managed the team, earning community thanks for their efforts in a brief, eventful season finale.
