City council met Tuesday with mayor and aldermen present. Reports from street and alley committees discussed curbs grades and sidewalks. A motion to table a resolution authorizing a collector failed. The mayor cast the deciding vote on the resolution directing collection of funds paid improperly to officials. An amended version tied votes, and the mayor again cast the deciding vote in favor. Invitations to state municipal conference were received. A curfew ordinance was read once. An order to repair a Franklin Street cement walk and to bill property owners for curb work was issued. The engineer was told to buy waterworks pump supplies. Further city matters were left for future consideration.
