Mr and Mrs John Vos of Homestead Florida stay with Mr and Mrs Wm Vos Jr while Mr Vos joins Air Force Schools in Texas. Other families including Swanks De Goeys Young Hoksber gens Bruinooges Elscotts and Vander Poortes planned or enjoyed trips through California Oregon Washington Wisconsin and Iowa with visits to relatives and friends.
The Iowa State Department of Health urges planning and restraint for the long Labor Day weekend. Check car tires and brakes, carry a first aid kit, and rest during long trips. Ensure fires are out at picnics, avoid food spoilage, swim only in supervised areas, boat safely, and plan return times to prevent accidents.

Mr and Mrs Marion G Van Zee of Pella announce the birth of a daughter on Thursday August 30 at Pella Community Hospital. The infant weighed 7 pounds 9 and a half ounces. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Charles Van Vark of Pella.
Katrina Wolvers Van Ekeren born November 7, 1874 on a farm near Pella died August 27, 1962 at Heerema custodial home after a long illness. She married Michael Van Ekeren May 13, 1903. son Henry M. Van Ekeren survives with five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving two brothers Henry Milan Missouri and Barney Brom Pella along with nieces and nephews. Funeral August 29 at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home chapel with Rev. E G Ward officiating. burial Oakwood Cemetery Pella.
