How is zoning ordinance established in Iowa counties
A county board of supervisors appoints a zoning commission to survey land use, roads, schools and population for a comprehensive plan. The commission drafts preliminary zoning districts and regulations, holds a public hearing, and submits a final report to the board, which may adopt the plan and appoint an administrator and board of adjustment to enforce and fine tune the ordinance. The board of adjustment handles hardship waivers and appeals, while changes go to the commission or board depending on the request.

Malaysia official lauds Peace Corps value in community work
Keith S. Nadin of Malaysia’s Federal Land Development Authority praised the Peace Corps for delivering results beyond aid and politics. He cited volunteers in Malaysia among 352 total, detailing village-based farming, schooling, health services, and cooperatives that lift incomes from $20 to about $120 monthly, with dedicated volunteers living leanly at $90 a month. Nadin noted married volunteers can better reach families and urged more volunteers, including couples, to expand development efforts.
