Earl Schmidt of Sully stayed with grandparents during football game in Town City. Schmidt attended second wedding anniversary dinner Sunday. Frank Morgan elected assistant leader. Walter Batterson named leader. Arie Van Ringelestein named assistant leader. A hay ride and wiener roast Monday evening. Mr and Mrs Wm De Heer of Leighton visited JG Newse family Sunday. Henry Grootveld of Fremont hosted Club Monday. Mrs Lewis Lundy was guest. Clara Meyer of Quincy Ill spent weekend with Mr and Mrs Wm This. Mrs A Van Ringelestein traveled to Kalamazoo Mich Sunday to see ill mother Mrs C Hoff man who recently fell and broke her hip.
Rev T De Vries led Sunday services at First Christian Reformed Church and an infant from Mr and Mrs Wm Drost was baptized there Sunday morning. Bob Wittenberg and family visited relatives near Otley Sunday evening. Marcella Else of Cedar hosted the Cedar Boosters 4-H meeting with 15 members two leaders and four visitors. they voted to buy an American flag and held two talks followed by games and songs. Cedar Livestock Club met Oct 14 at Joe Allery's home with 18 present, Larry Dinsmore presiding. roll call answered by What my Project is going to be with a new leader added.

Mrs. Katie Cessford lies in Skiff Memorial Hospital Newton while local gatherings feature the Vriezelaar and Rice families, Otley Reformed Church chorus, and plans for a Bake Sale and schoolhouse singing by Summit Strivers 4-H.
Mr. and Mrs. Connie Terpstra of near Sully visited Sunday afternoon in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Willemsen and Elmer Dean. Rev and Mrs J J Steigenga of Bellflower California arrived Friday and were in the home of Rev and Mrs.
Vander Kieft spends weekend in Prairie City then Otley where Rev Steigenga will lead the Christian Reformed Church. Local visits include Ustermarkts in Dunreuth and Van Hmaar ten family in Missouri. Des Moines hospital surgery for Loretta Stierneman. hopeful recovery. Multiple family and neighbor visits trace weekly and seasonal happenings in Otley and nearby towns.
Mrs. Fred Kritz of Luzerne found an 11 and one half pound mushroom in the timber near Elberon. It was not an old mushroom and was good eating. The item carries a plain note of local pride with a quotation about helping others bear burdens.
