The Maple’s Last Threat to the Town
A maple tree drop leaves and a fire set among them fills the curbside air with thick smoke. Children and drivers navigate the obscured street as the town watches the old maple make its final dangerous stand against mischance.
The Leafy Carpet Almost Killed a Child on the Street
In late October and early November a maple tree dropped a tide of leaves over the street creating a soft colorful carpet. A speeding driver lost control and struck a fire hydrant, while a child narrowly escaped burial as the pile shifted at the curb.
