Supply Wells At Knoxville Are Completed
Two new wells at Knoxville city park eight miles northeast of town were completed and ready for use this week. City Council members Gholson and Avery and city clerk Crawford inspected the wells before operation. Built by Houk Construction of Dex Moines at 14000.01, the pump houses feature brick upper sections on cement foundations and valves for simultaneous or separate use. Knoxville now has five wells and four pump houses, each pump delivering 290 gallons per minute. The city may develop the adjacent 45 acre river bottom land into a park, though no plans are definite. The finished system should provide water beyond current town needs.
