CWS clothing drive ends October 23 in Pella area
The Churches of the Pella area announce the annual collection of used clothing to be distributed by Church World Service to overseas needy. October 18 to 23, goal of 10,000 pounds, downtown center open 24 hours daily in a portable building by Super Valu. Donations include men’s and boys’ clothing, blankets, light clothing, and various accessories, with specific items and packing instructions noted.

Morrison feature at convocation at Central College
Harry S. Morrison Jr., associate professor of music at the University of Missouri, will be featured in a convocation Friday at 8:00 pm in the Recital Hall of the Cox Snow Music Center on Central College campus in Pella. A baritone, he has performed widely in oratorios and concerts across the Midwest and Pacific Northwest and with Grass Roots Opera Company of Raleigh and University of Iowa Opera productions. Morrison, a native of Douds, Iowa, earned his B A M A and MFA from Iowa and has taught at Missouri after a stint with the University of Iowa and summers teaching 1955 to 1960.

Barbara Duven a student teacher and daughter of Mr and Mrs Wilson Duven of 907 Liberty St will join five other Central College students in the second Story Hour for Pella children on Saturday morning in the college library basement.
