The Wormhoudt Funeral Home buried a Seal-Tite steel vault near a store on the north side at 2 30 pm Saturday. A casket was placed inside with salt sugar and matches. three witnesses and Paul Dustman supervised. The vault is to remain for one year to test durability and will be opened October 16, 1938 without damage.

Ross B. Newman age about 45 was fatally injured when his car skidded on a slippery roadway two miles north of Ottumwa. He died after hours of unconsciousness.
