Horse Mule and Pony Show a Great Community Event
The horse show at the Wacehter Lumber Yard Tuesday drew a large crowd as Harry Linn Assistant Secretary of Agriculture for Iowa judged entries. Farmers and many women watched as Linn explained his selections and discussed the results. A duck a Jenny and a young Jack fascinated attendees though no competition existed for them. A downtown parade showcased the animals amid praise for good team work on farms. Poultry displays at the Industries building received high quality stock but suffered from limited breeder participation. Records of prize winners were misplaced and unavailable for printing.

John A Pos keeps a year round rain and snowfall record noting that from January 1 to October 1 1941 total moisture reached 23 three quarters inches.
