Leonard Van Ee moved into the Laura Thomas residence on Carson Street after buying it last week. Dave Thomas relocated across the road to Mrs. Mary Todd’s former property, while R. M. Jameson left the Todd home for Van Ce’s vacated Oskaloosa Street house. Loyde Hillyer and son Harold Lee of Montrose Colorado visited the Chronicle office. Harold Lee endears as a promising boy, with a humorous name anecdote from his father. S. B. Grant and family hosted a Sunday visit from Fred Vanderly and kin.

Fortnightly Club Sees Mrs Kuyk Chair Meeting
The Fortnightly club met with Mrs. Ben Kuyk on Thursday afternoon last week. Mrs. W. D. Van Sitteret led the session and presented a paper titled A Chinese Notebook. A vocal duet by Mrs. Ben Blommers and her daughter followed, then refreshments were served. The gathering was reported as enjoyable and pleasant.

Mortuary Notice of Mrs Nancy S Lounsbery
Mrs Nancy S Lounsbery died at the Barnes home on Tuesday September 21 at age 91 years 7 months and 20 days. She was born February 1 1835 in Morgan county Illinois and lived in Mahaska Marion and briefly Monroe counties. She married Benjamin T Lounsbery November 21 1870 and had one son and three daughters, only Anna survived with her husband M A Barnes in later years. Funeral services were held September 24 at St Anthony's church with interment in Pella Catholic cemetery.
