Old fashioned muzzle loader linked to Civil War memory
In a town and country kindergarten home the Roorda family preserves Civil War relics. Richerd Roorda, oldest son, carries a grandfather’s muzzle loading rifle and Howerd’s diary notes his service. Mrs Roorda advocates high school education for all children of average means. The family recounts farm life, rationing, a broken arm, and a loyal dog amid daily routines and a roadside barn.
