At the Farm Bureau Women's Conference in Des Moines on November 14 at Hotel Kirkwood an Achievement Award was given to the Marion County Farm Bureau Women's Committee for achieving organization goals in 1961. Womens County chairman Mrs H W Vriezelaar spoke.

Shower Meets Former PHS Teacher and Society News
A surprise baby shower honored Mrs. Carol De Vries, former PHS Home Economics teacher, by 45 former pupils in the school study hall after class on Wednesday Nov 15. Iowa Philosophy Society secretary treasurer Ihal College was announced, with Dr. Paul presenting a Grinnell College paper on metaphysical vision in contemporary naturalism. Also included are homemaking tips, a holiday reflection, baking and recipe notes, plus reports of triplet calves born to a Cresco area dairy herd.
