The Monroe Mirror called it an evening of masterful music rather than mere noise. Also noted are Rock Island Railways low fares to California from several cities, including Chicago 33.00 and Des Moines 29.25, with travel possible in tourist sleeping cars and two route options Scenic and Southern.
