In September Iowa counties posted higher E bond cash-ins totaling 8.45 million dollars while several counties including Appanoose Clarke Keokuk Madison Mahaska Palo Alto Warren Winnebago and Worth cashed in more bonds than sold. Officials caution that redemptions include older series and maturing bonds, and urge that the rise does not reflect widespread household sacrifice. In the region Marion sold 132,874 with redemptions 55,270 while Jasper sold 135,200.50 and redeemed 116,061. Mahaska posted 67,260 in sales and 74,460 in redemptions.
