Proposed Annexation In Pella
Voters in Pella will decide next week whether to enlarge the city corporate boundaries by annexing surrounding land. The move aims to secure space for future growth around Red Rock Dam and Lake while preserving city control over nearby land uses. If approved, the expanded city limits would cover about five and a quarter miles and would not alter current land use unless a business closes or agricultural land ceases farming for a year, at which point city approval would be needed to resume.
