Seed corn seizure case ends in Iowa Supreme Court
A 1916 seed corn crib valued at $6,500 was seized by Iowa authorities during the 1918 seed corn shortage. The state supreme court ruled farmers who bought the corn under seizure were not liable for excess compensation, finding the price set at $6.50 per bushel was not confiscatory but the full value.
