Bits of Gossip From This Week in Pella
This week’s Pella column shares light hearted vignettes about local figures. Jokes center on the Jakes and Johns, a barber near the Chronicle office, June weddings, and neighborhood anecdotes. The piece pokes fun at neighbors, reporters, preachers, and a Joker Thomassen line, ending with a note on morning talkies at a rooming house.
