Des Moines pastor Rev. J F Nugent who befriended William Jennings Bryan endorses Edwin T Meredith as a royal Democrat. Nugent recalls riding with Bryan in 1896 and says Meredith funded 100000 copies of Bryan's Prince of Peace for free distribution, testifying to Merediths long standing party loyalty.
