Sixty Years Old Papers From Harper's Weekly 1861 62

C. T. Van Lint brought six Harper's Weekly issues from 1861 and 1862 to the Chronicle office. The ads are minimal and the wartime Civil War scenes dominate the pages with engravings of battles camps trains and ships including a Merimac ironclad design. The papers, found in an attic and well preserved, reflect a stark contrast with today’s advertising and printing.
