Pair of Iowa Twins Lived Through Great Plains Trek
William Long and his twin sister Sarah, born December 20, 1846 in Mahaska County Iowa, joined wagon trains westward in 1862. They witnessed frontier justice, settled in Washington territory, with Robert in Snoqualmie valley and Sarah attending the University of Washington before marriages to Allan Wiley Malson and later life in Seattle. Both remained active Baptists and Pioneer Association members.

Electric Plant Change In Eddyville City Finance Plan
Eddyville council met to finance converting the electric light plant from 220 volt direct current to 110 alternating current. Previous bonds of 8,000 were inadequate, so warrants at five percent interest will be issued. Local banks will take the warrants at full value, and an expert electrician will oversee the project. Once updated, the plant is expected to run profitably and allow further improvements.
