City officials should adopt a system for public work with consistent progress. Grading plans were begun years ago by a civil engineer but little has been accomplished. Make parking and ordinances compulsory to beautify and clean up Pella. Citizens should join the bandwagon and support rather than resist public efforts.

Central University hosts a multi day missionary conference led by Rev. L A Garrison with Dr W E Witter of Boston and Assam service. Sessions feature Burma and China missions, personal testimonies by Miss MacLaurin and Judge Lewis, prayers, and a strong call to spread the Word abroad.
Miss MacLaurin urged immediate action as Dr. Witter led consecration and two other ministers spoke on mission work. Rev J D Collins and Rev Groesbeck addressed attendees, with Dr Petersen donating twenty two volumes to the missionary library. Visitors included Mrs Carrie W Miller and several pastors from Ottumwa and nearby towns.
