Mrs. Bessie Brooks returned from an Oskaloosa hospital after a month for appendicitis operation and is not yet fully recovered. Several locals attended events in Oskaloosa and Des Moines, including a memorial tree ceremony for Ruby Clarke and Shrine activities. Frost damage was minor. fruit blossoms escaped largely, aiding upcoming crops. Central Loses to Simpson in Nine-Run Defeat
Simpson defeated Central 10 to 6 after leading 10-1 by the eighth inning. McCoy hit a first frame homer for Simpson and a late rally by Central produced five runs in the eighth as Ver Heul struggled on the mound and Bocyink relieved.
