Speed, fog, and a fatal crash on a foggy night
A car speeding in dense fog passed a patrol vehicle at 80 mph. Two nights later the same driver, returning downhill, swerved through a narrow bridge, crashed, and was found to be the earlier offender. The driver, unadvised, died at the scene.
Plan Motor Car Races at State Fair Grounds May 30th

Iowa Farm Price Index Advances in April
The index of prices received by Iowa farmers rose three points in April to 258, the highest since October’s 262. The low point since the war was 289 percent of 1910-14 prices in December. The ratio of prices received to prices paid moved up to 1.96. Gains stem mainly from grains with Iowa corn prices up eight points. livestock and products mixed as milk and poultry fell, beef rose. hog prices fluctuated but were slightly lower midmonth.
