County Worker Killed by Dirt Slide Apr 29
John Amos about 60 was killed near Harvey when a ditch he helped dig along the road east from Howell station caved in trapping him and fellow worker Joe Chirk. Both men lived in Dunreath and Coulport neighborhoods. Coroner R V Mater said Amos was completely buried. Abe Vanden Berg helped recover Chirk.
