Schreiner's petition sparks council debate on pay
At Tuesday's council meeting Supt. Schreiner argued against extra street duties without pay, prompting the mayor to offer $25 for April and the council to approve a $15 monthly May increase. He warned of overtime and being on call around the clock for street and utility concerns. The council later granted $25 and discussed fire alarm bells and rural fire calls, with other items including street light requests, tax installments, and bank depositories.
