Skeleton in uniform claimed as brigadier general found in Texas mountain grave
In Brownwood Texas a farmer and his 12 year old son uncovered a nearly intact skeleton atop West Twin mountain. The remains wore a tattered U S Army uniform with epaulets suggesting the rank of brigadier general. Artifacts include steel bridle bits saddle buckles a dirk a butcher knife and old cavalry spur. Local army men speculate the savage killed a general and buried the uniform with him. The grave lies near the old Camp Colorado site once guarding pioneers and featuring Robert E Lee early in his career. The clay preserved the remains by keeping moisture out.
