Marion County Board Awards Fuel Contracts in 1962 Bid Results

The Marion County Iowa Board of Supervisors awarded contracts to low bidders for Gaxo Hine Premium Diesel and Regular Diesel fuel for the county road department. Des Moines Standard Oil Division of America Oil Co. won 80,000 gallons gasoline at 1148 per gallon, 36,000 gallons diesel at 1165 per gallon, and 60,000 gallons regular diesel at 1065 per gallon, with term running Feb 2, 1962 to Feb 8, 1968. The meeting also covered approving minutes, bonds, erroneous assessment petition, quarterly judge reports, and extensive county expense claims.

Edith Le Cocq to sing Mozart Requiem with ISU Chorus

Soloist Mrs Edith Sedrel Le Cocq associate professor of music at Central College will be the soprano soloist with the Iowa State University Chorus and Orchestra for its presentation of Mozart Requiem at 8 p m April 15 in Ames. Le Cocq has given a recital in Ames and appeared as soloist with university orchestras and choirs across the Midwest. She holds a B A from Central and an M A from the University of Iowa and belongs to the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
