Rean Verwers truck purchase from Lew Delles of Pella signals trucking start. sale well attended. John Bloodsworth works at Maytag in Newton and family to stay in Newton weekdays. Several visits noted among neighbors and farmers. Fifield school board met. Junior Schuring of Nick Schuring begins to walk after leg injury. Gerrit Vande Kieft traveled with brothers to Des Moines on business. Sunday night rain and hail observed, good for ground. Farmers.
Sandridge Herman Westerkamp hauled fat cattle to Chicago last Wednesday. John De Penning traveled to Oskaloosa on business Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ver Heul and son Franklin of Pella visited Thursday night at the Bert Van Ee home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hart and son Billie visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Beyers. Chester Kiser and family moved Wednesday to a farm near Oskaloosa. Hen ry Brom birthday observance included Louis Van Haaften family, Ben Vos family, and Frank Brom family. Mrs H Westerkamp and Pete Westerkamp were in Oskaloosa Saturday afternoon. Visitors in Frank Brom home Friday night included Lawrence, Willie and Marion De Young. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith of Killduff visited Henry Brom Sunday with his family. Little Alice Van Hemert is on the sick list.

The Marion County Medical Society president argues for the Basic Science Bill while addressing chiropractic training. He notes chiropractors study lengthy courses, comparable to or exceeding four year college work, and highlights differences in licensure and scope of practice among healing arts.
Dr. L. M. Henry notes that in states with Basic Science laws, discrimination against osteopaths and chiropractors has occurred. He warns that Iowa's adoption of such a bill could eliminate drugless professions and deprive thousands of patients of their chosen doctor.
The twenty-fifth annual meeting of the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America will be held in Chicago on May 15 and 16. Delegates from across the United States and about five hundred volunteers will participate. The Silver Jubilee adds a special program. Philip S. Reed of Armour and Co. presented the invitation as vice-president and treasurer and National Executive Board member.
Judge Elmer K. Daugherty ruled Saturday that a section of Towa's new foreclosure law extending mortgage redemption periods is unconstitutional in the case Bates, receiver of Town Loan and Trust Co. of Fairfield, against real estate dealer E Russell Smith.
Smith challenged a notice clause under House File 84 claiming it unfairly limited time to file for a continuance to March 1, 1937. Judge Daugherty ruled section 10 unconstitutional under the state constitution, allowing original notices but removing a definite appearance time while preserving redemption period extension options.
Governor Herring said Saturday that an emergency bill will be ready for introduction to the state legislature Monday to provide funds at once for payment of additional old age pensions in Iowa.
