PCHS history since 1964 fire
On January 15 1964 Pella Christian High School nearly burned to the ground. The next day the Board held a special meeting to plan recovery and immediate needs. Committees were appointed, local aid offered, and facilities shared. By January 27 classes resumed with arrangements finalizing a new building. The Society approved plans once $150000 in cash and pledges were raised, soon surpassed to about $170748. Community drives and external gifts added thousands, enabling De Jong Construction to begin early April new construction.
