Use New Material In Garage Doors
Hardboard, a versatile do it yourself material, is no stranger to the family garage. Made of quarter inch sections four or five to a door, garage doors of hardboard prove unusually durable and long lasting as well as easy to construct and maintain. No sanding needed if installed unfinished. hardboard doors are easy to paint or varnish and do not require filling or sanding. Grain swelling is not a problem because this reconstructed wood fiber material is grainless. Panels are moisture resistant and will not warp or separate from the framing. Once up, the panels are mar proof and dent resistant. The workability of hardboard remains high after installation. It is impossible for the single ply panels to delaminate. Free plans for do it yourself projects are available from hardwood manufacturers at many lumber dealers.
