School Notes Details Vacation Start And New Board Member
The Spring vacation begins March 27 with a musical program featuring about 200 pupils replacing the usual cantata. George J. Thomassen is elected to the school board, succeeding E. M. Cole who was reelected. Prizes may be offered by the Ladies Reading Circle for the best kept summer flower garden. Several pupils have left school due to family relocations, with some inward movement not compensating the loss. A special program is planned March 22 in the Assembly room and a rhetorical program March 24. High School tests focus on interest calculations, with boys ahead of girls and the Senior class posting the best overall average. Visitor numbers are down, suggesting parental indifference or satisfaction with progress. Grades study local town birds for opening exercises. The February attendance report shows totals of 657 with 284 boys and 273 girls.
