The attorney general holds that Iowa residents who move to another state and become insane before establishing a new residence retain their Iowa residence. The county of origin must bear their support costs. Merely moving does not establish domicile in the new state unless accompanied by a declared intent to change domicile from Iowa.
W S Kelly of Mondamin presented a paper on Alfalfa noting two two ton per acre alfalfa crops and five bushels per acre seed last year. He reported hay bringing $32 per acre and seed $30 per acre, totaling $62 earnings per acre.
Harry Hortman seeks appeal from a Cherokee court after being sentenced to hang on January 28, 1903 for shooting his fiancée Florence Porter on November 30. Porter had broken the engagement due to Hortman’s liquor addiction. Hortman is confined in the Anamvaa penitentiary awaiting appeal.
Walter S. Packard a second year law student at the University of Iowa from Ahashalltown returns home to Marshalltown in low spirits and grief over his brother's death. Governor Packard of Louisiana plans to send him to a private institution for mental care.
Mrs Shafer of 436 Pope Ave reports to the editor that her four year old Alice improved after childhood ailments and repeated fevers with Peruna as a tonic. Mina Long of Atwood endorses Peruna noting her health change after use and that her child has not had croup since starting Peruna, aside from a light cold.
Dr R Robbins of Muskogee Indian Territory reports a severe grip illness for himself and his daughter. After using Peruna, his cough eased, lungs loosened, and his head cleared. He credits Peruna for his daughter's rapid recovery and offers further advice from Dr Hartman.
