A Band Concert last Saturday drew a large crowd with full seats and standing room as all numbers pleased the audience. Dorothy Anne Baitsell of New Haven arrives Saturday for a short visit at Sunnyside with her mother as traveling companion and her father the business manager. The dirt began to fly for the new building at Central College on the morning of June 23.

Crop Report No 6 of the Rock Island Lines dated June 17 1926 from the Freight Traffic Department lists Illinois corn good stands diverse yields by state including Iowa Minnesota Missouri Nebraska Kansas Oklahoma Colorado Arkansas Louisiana Texas New Mexico and notes heavy wheat crops and strong fruit prospects. It also includes a lengthy obituary and funeral notices for David Singer Huber with attendance from many relatives and friends and a Card of Thanks from Lucy Huber.

David Huber Pella Pioneer Details California years
David Singer Huber a Pella Iowa area pioneer died June 8 1926 at ninety. Born February 19 1836 in Johnstown Pennsylvania he moved with family to Winchester Iowa in 1851. He and his father journeyed to California in 1852 ox team lasting four years with Sacramento gold mines. He returned east briefly then to Winchester and married Susan A. Goodall in 1862. they had four children Mary Annie Laurie Helen and Lucy. Later he settled in Pella where he held many local offices including mayor and school board member. Funeral was held June 10 at the M E church with Rev U S Smith presiding.

Funeral services set for 1 pm Thursday at First Reformed church with interment at Oakwood.
