General Synod to Meet in Pella in 1922
The Reformed Church in America announces its General Synod will convene in Pella Iowa in June 1922 marking the 116th session. A recent Asbury Park report notes 21 ministers died this year the highest figure in the century with Iowa recording only one death. The retiring president Rev Dr David James Burrell urged denominational unity under existing standards, not a universal merger, while reporting strong gains in domestic and foreign missions and notable increases for women’s and synod boards.
