The piece argues for replacing some stop signs with Yield signs where visibility is clear. It notes motorists dislike frequent full stops and urges city officials to adopt Yield control where practical and feasible.

Civilian Conservation Corps director James J. McEntee reports that a May 1 survey shows about 4,316 Iowa CCC enrollees, including veterans, are in training tied to national defense. Central’s Second Civilian Pilot Training course at the airport lists instructors and new trainees such as Franklin Vertips and Donald Mening. Inductions planned for Robert Bosveld and Nick Van Gorp at local draft boards in Knoxville on June 26. Bids sought for renting a concession stand near the swimming pool. Kiwanis convention trip to St Louis and visit to Huntington guest Elizabeth Sadler honored at Pearl Van Gorp home.
Mrs H W Vriezelaar of Ot ley will participate in final planning and adoption of the state Farm Bureau womens program during the Des Moines summer conference June 25 27 as county womens chairman she will be the county s official delegate. L G Shivers vice chairman from Marion county also attends. Speakers include Haven Smith John Davies David Paul and E Howard Hill.
Iowa Falls Citizen notes growing interest in elementary and high school summer programs. Half of Iowa districts offered summer work last year, with more likely this year. Programs target not only make up work but accelerated study, including driver training and typing. Summer school is coming.
