A. J. Vandermeulen refused to sell his residence after it was offered at public auction on the premises last Saturday. The property had been advertised for sale for weeks. Vandermeulen, who bought it for 2250, later moved to Knoxville to start a business and sought 1700. The top bid at auction was 1650, which he declined to accept.
