Jasper County native Watson Terpstra 41 died at Skiff Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon after living at 1002 West Sixth Street South. Funeral services were held at 2 30 PM Wednesday at the Baptist church with Rev. I Cedric Peterson and Rev. Willard Wylie in charge. Burial followed in Newton Union Cemetery. Born July 8 1890 in Galesburg Jasper County he is survived by his wife Hazel his mother Mrs Tena Terpstra a daughter Kathryn three brothers Dirk Reu and Clarence and three sisters Mrs B L Turck Mrs Hattie Hallin and Miss Bernice Terpstra. One daughter preceded him in death 14 years ago.

Mrs A Roelofsz dies in Clarinda at 75
Mrs Andrew Roelofsz aged 75 died Saturday evening at the State hospital in Clarinda. Born in Missouri March 18, 1857 she married June 8 55 years ago and bore eight children four of whom preceded her in death. Survived by her husband and 12 grandchildren and children Sam Roelofsz Des Moines Harriet Jackson Sioux City Stella Metcalf Springfield Ohio Bess Beck Springfield Ohio and Etta Belle Wilcox Henry Roelofsz and an unnamed infant. Remains brought to Pella for brief committal service conducted by Rev Albert van der Ploeg at Oakwood Cemetery.
